It’s the final day of the 5 day festival of Diwali. It’s Bhai Dooj or Bhai Beej.
.
Bhai Dooj is the celebration of brotherly-sisterly love, very similar to Raksha Bandhan. The word Dooj means the second day after the new moon, while Bhai means brother.
.
.
It’s a time to shower your brothers with love and to get blessings in return...on zoom whilst staying at home if you don’t live with that special sibling! We wish everyone enjoying this day a happy Bhai Dooj celebration 🕉🙏🏽

Happy Diwali to all our followers 🙏🏽 All around the world people are celebrating this auspicious occasion despite the various restrictions in place! We would love to know how you are celebrating.... rangoli, lighting divas, doing fireworks, doing a puja and the best of all...eating all the Indian sweets under the sun! COVID-19 can’t stop that!
.
In Sanskrit Diwali is known as Dipavali or Deepavali which means "row of lamps", which is why it is known as the Festival of Lights. It symbolises the spiritual victory of light over darkness, good over evil and knowledge over ignorance. We hope that however you are celebrating, you do so in the knowledge that light over the darkness that is COVID-19 will prevail!
.
.
Watford Hindu Group wishes everyone all around the world celebrating Diwali a wonderful day 🎆🎇 🕉🙏🏽
